At Wigan Business Awards, we talk a lot about keeping it local and putting our money where our mouth is.
This year, we wanted our raffle prize to reflect that.
So instead of looking further afield, we headed straight to Windy Arbour Farm Shop.
In 2024, Windy Arbour Farm were finalists at the Wigan Business Awards in two categories, Customer Service Excellence and Small retailer of the Year.
The Awards recognised them for their hard work, quality and care that goes into everything they do.
This year, we were proud to support them in a different way. We bought our raffle hamper directly from their farm shop.
It’s a small decision on the surface. But it represents something much bigger.
Every time we choose a local supplier, we keep more spend in Wigan and back real families. We also help strengthen the businesses that make this borough what it is.
A Hamper Full of Local Goodness
The hamper we bought from Windy Arbour Farm was packed with locally sourced produce – the kind of treats you just don’t get from a generic gift basket.
Quality cheeses, chutneys, jams, biscuits and more, all carefully selected and beautifully presented.
It became the standout prize on the night. It was also a brilliant showcase of the food and farming talent we have right here on our doorstep.

It’s a simple picture, but it captures what we’re all about, local people, supporting local people.
Why Windy Arbour Matters
Windy Arbour Farm shop support local producers, champion seasonal produce and give customers a way to buy from the farms and makers in their own area.
They stock and sell local farm produce with pride, and that fits perfectly with the values behind the Wigan Business Awards campaign.
When we say we want to build a stronger local economy, this is what we mean. We celebrate businesses like theirs, then actively choose to spend with them.
