At Wigan Business Awards we have created 22 award categories to celebrate excellence across Wigan’s diverse business community. From passionate sole traders to thriving corporations, we’ve curated a selection that ensures there’s something for everyone in Wigan’s bustling business community.

Wigan’s Business of the Year Award
This category is suitable for established businesses of any size that demonstrate exceptional performance, growth, and community impact within Wigan.
Micro Business of the Year Award
Ideal for small businesses with a tight-knit team, such as boutique shops, local cafes, or specialised service providers with 2-9 employees.
Family Business of the Year award
Suited for any family-run businesses based in Wigan that has at least 2 family members in the business, entries welcomed from across all sectors and industries.
Freelancer of the Year Award
Designed for individuals working independently in creative, technical, or professional fields, such as graphic designers, consultants, writers or VA’s.
Best New Business Award
Perfect for recently established businesses (under 3 years old) that may have shown rapid growth, innovation, and promise within their first three years of operation.
Trade Business of the Year Award
Tailored for businesses specialising in trade services or suppliers to trades such as plumbing, electrical services, construction, landscaping
