Being nominated for a Wigan Business Award is a fantastic first step, but to be in the running to win, there are a few important next steps to follow. Don’t worry—we’re here to guide you through the process and cheer you on every step of the way.
Step 1: Complete Your Entry Form
To move forward in the awards process, you’ll need to complete an official entry form for your category.
You’ll find the link in your nomination email, or you can access it HERE.
This is your chance to tell your story—what you’ve achieved, how you’ve made an impact, and why your business stands out. Make it count!
Note: You don’t need to be nominated to enter the Wigan Business Awards, but it’s nice to be recognised 😉

Step 2: The Shortlisting Process
Once the deadline has passed, all completed entries go to our shortlisting panel. They’ll carefully review each submission and select our finalists for each category. You’ll then be notified by email if you’ve made it as a finalist. Keep and eye out on our socials for exact dates.
If you’re shortlisted—amazing! 🎉 But your journey isn’t over just yet…
Step 3: Meet the Judges (Don’t Panic!)
If you’re shortlisted as a finalist, you’ll be invited to take part in a 20-minute online interview with a panel of three judges. This is your chance to expand on your entry and give the judges a deeper understanding of your work, impact, and achievements.
While it’s a structured session, there’s no need to stress—we aim to keep it as relaxed and supportive as possible. We’ll also let you know what to expect. Many of our judges are business owners or past nominees or winners themselves, so they know what it’s like to be in your shoes. They’re not here to catch you out—they genuinely want to hear your story and help you succeed.
Step 4: Book Your Ceremony Tickets
Whether you’re named a finalist or simply want to join us for an unforgettable night, you’re welcome at the awards ceremony!
Finalists will receive an invite to book their tickets after the shortlisting stage. If you’ve not made the final cut, you’re still more than welcome to celebrate with us—we promise it’ll be a night to remember! 🥂
